We need your help. Without regular financial support, no matter how small, from hundreds of local people, business and organisations, HNCC will not have a future. We rely on and value financial and practical support from the whole community in order to respond to the needs and aspirations of all of us in our neighbourhood – young and old, rich and poor. Community Solidarity Fund

These are very difficult financial times for many and there is a growing need for HNCC’s services. Our Food Bank, our Community Lunch Club and our free 60+ Fitness Classes, are in great demand but they cannot exist without a subsidy. We want to be able to provide small cash grants to help with the sort of emergencies families on the breadline often struggle to deal with, such as a cooker packing up, a new pair of shoes being needed for a growing child at the beginning of term, or an elderly lady not having a decent nightie to wear in hospital. And we are determined that the activities and classes that we provide are affordable to all in the community and wherever possible, free.

We need regular donations from members of the local community – from you – no matter how small. For the price of a packet of cigarettes a week, you could not only help sustain your Community Centre but help us to give more practical support to local families and individuals struggling to get by. We don’t see this as charity but as mutual aid – practical solidarity between neighbours in times of trouble.

Become and active member

Everyone who takes part in any activity at the Centre automatically becomes a member of HNCC and is entitled to play an active part in the running the Centre and deciding its policies, and to stand for election to our Board at our Annual General Meeting. Membership is free for the first year, but we would be grateful for a small donation (£5 or so – or whatever you can afford, from £1 up) as an annual subscription from then on to help cover the costs of keeping you up to date with what is going on.

If you are able to give us any of your time – even if it’s just a couple of hours a week – we always welcome volunteers for a host of activities, such as for helping out on reception, helping with the food bank or picking up local elderly people who need a lift to the Centre. As a Volunteer you will be entitled to free membership of HNCC.
