AngusAndersonHighgate Newtown Community Centre has appointed Angus Anderson as Artist in Residence to provide a range of painting and drawing classes for the HNCC community, and to help us develop our general arts programme. The Director and trustees are very pleased to have his support to help us further broaden the range of activities and sessions on offer for all ages in our area.

Angus has a Diploma in Fine Art from the Art Academy and his particular artistic interests are as a painter and printmaker. You can see his wider work on
Afloat_AngusAndersonHe has exhibited widely in the north London area in the last few years and had his first solo show at Lauderdale House early in 2015. But his wider experience includes the Trustee Chairmanship of Action Space over the last thirteen years helping to lift it to become one of the Arts Council’s national portfolio organisations.

From December 2015 he will be based at HNCC and he is now getting underway with open classes for adults on Mondays from 12.30 – 3.15 pm in term time He is also preparing an after school programme for young people (13 – 19 years) and working with the FRESH Youth Academy (FYA) to make this available to those young people who use their services. In addition, Angus is hoping to set up an After School Art Club for primary school children.
