We create projects that allow people space to take stock, find friendship, learn new skills, exercise and access services.
A Highgate Newtown Community Centre Project
Millie’s has a passion for food and family and welcomes everyone, no matter where they’re from or how rich or poor they might be. That’s what Millie’s is about – fair, honest food for everyone, no matter what. This is brought to us by the Café volunteer team without whose support we could not open the café each day. Our Community Lunch club offers everyone a healthy 2 course meal in friendly surroundings for only £2 Tuesday to Friday throughout the year.
Our launderette, which is open every day from 8am to 7pm offers the opportunity to do large family washes at very low cost. A wash costs only £2 and our high capacity tumble dyers cost £1.
Food for Thought Food Bank
HNCC is a member of Food Share, so each week we receive food to help us provide daily low cost meals and emergency food parcels. We also receive regular generous food and financial donations from a number of local people. Agencies and local people can refer anyone who needs support. We know that asking for help can be difficult, but our team is on hand and will do all it can to provide practical – and discrete – assistance. Read more about our Food Bank scheme here.
