The last day of core sessions at the community centre will be December 16th. We re-open 9th Jan 2017 Independent groups will have their own timetable and please contact them directly to find out their arrangements.
In a busy year, Highgate Newtown Community Centre secured £3.8 million of funding from Camden Council to build a new centre. This is a good news story when many services are being cut due to central government funding being removed from local councils.
Our many free services support the whole community and are created so that no child or older person is excluded due to affordability.
The local community supports each other and Christmas time gives us an opportunity to reflect on what this means. In 2016, thanks to local people’s kindness, we were able to give out 270 food parcels to hard pressed families. We applied for over £6,000 grants to buy crisis items for local people needing support. Our cheap community lunch and laundry means the community can have access to a range of services.
