Under 5’s Stay and Play Drop-in
Highgate Newtown Community Centre takes pride in providing fun and exciting opportunities for local children and families in our community setting.
Our Under 5’s Stay and Play Drop-in, supports and encourages babies and children to develop their social, physical and emotional skills through play and interaction with other children and peers. We ensure that all our toys and equipment are age appropriate, educational and fun to play with.Busy Tots with Hargrave Hall (pdf)
We invite you to come along to our drop-In sessions and meet new families. You will always be greeted with a warm welcome and a friendly atmosphere, we also offer support and advice, if required.
The importance of these groups in the development of young babies and toddlers cannot be overstated. Participating children have positive experiences, and we take particular care in ensuring positive outcomes for everyone involved in our groups.
Highgate Newtown community centres users include: Mums, Dads, Grandparents, Nannies and Childminders ( a great support if you are thinking of going back to work ).
We also run a 4 week summer holiday drop-in with a wide range of activities and arts ‘n crafts. Unfortunately we do not run sessions during the other school holidays. ( This may change in the near future )
HNCC is undergoing a major re-development project in 2018, which in time will provide our local community with a new and modern community centre. Whilst this work is being carried out our Under 5’s Drop-in sessions will be relocated to:

Excellent services and groups. I attend with my children, friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. Nadine mentioned a Friday Arts ‘n crafts group. We would love this.
Vital services for mental and physical wellbeing of parents. I’m a university student and would not be able to afford these groups, if they were not by donations. Thank you
Friendly atmosphere, helpful, children really enjoy coming and interacting with different aged peers and it’s a clean, happy environment.
An amazing place to bring the children. Everyone is so happy and the music and dancing is amazing. Providers are very supportive and nice to talk to.
I LUV IT !!!
Great local resource
It is great to keep drop ins free (with donations) as this is one of the few places for under 5s that feels genuinely mixed with different kinds of mums, childminders, dads, grandparents etc. It is a great local resource – I’m so glad we have it nearby and I have donated in the past to support the work.
Very good space, good equipment, toys and sessions.
Clean and warm
Love the open space and music man. Lots of soft toys, push cars, bikes. Clean and warm for children to run around. Very good.
Brilliant space, huge hall, lots of room for lots of fun. Always had plenty to do, but now even more fantastic toys to keep little ones busy. Wonderful friendly staff create a very relaxed environment.
I’m very lucky to have a place like this. Very local to where I live, different activities they do each day for the under 5s. My daughter really enjoys it, and as she’s too young to attend nursery this is a good place to bring her to mix with other children and have a good range of toys to play with.
